Operations Manager - Hands-on
Job Overview:
Directs and coordinates activities of production and logistic department(s) in processing materials or manufacturing products in the industrial organization by performing the following duties personally or through subordinate supervisors.
Responsibilities:
- Reviews production orders or schedules to ascertain product data such as types, quantities, and specifications of products and helps with deliveries to plan department operations.
- Plans production operations, establishing priorities and sequences for washing.
- Prepares operational schedules and coordinates washing activities to ensure production and quality of products meet specifications.
- Training and Teaching Others -- Identifying the educational needs of others, developing formal educational or training programs or classes, and teaching or instructing others.
- Reviews production and operating reports and helps to resolve operational, manufacturing, and maintenance problems to ensure minimum costs and prevent operational delays.
- Inspects machines and equipment to ensure specific operational performance and optimum utilization.
- Develops or revises standard operational and working practices and observes workers to ensure compliance with standards.
- Resolve worker grievances or submit unsettled grievances to Plant Manager for action.
- Compiles, stores, and retrieves production data.
- Compiling production data to report business success or needs for improvement to senior management monthly.
- Evaluating Information to Determine Compliance with Standards -- Using relevant information and individual judgment to determine whether events or processes comply with laws, regulations, or standards.
- Social Perceptiveness -- Being aware of others' reactions and understanding why they react as they do.
- Problem Sensitivity -- The ability to tell when something is wrong or is likely to go wrong. It does not involve solving the problem, only recognizing there is a problem.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Supervisory Responsibilities
Fulfills supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

Education and/or Experience
- Bachelor's degree (B.A./B.S.) from four-year college or university; or one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Technical degree and completion of a craft apprenticeship, or an equivalent number of years of education and production maintenance experience.
- Strong manufacturing knowledge.
- Preferably skilled in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Industrial Technology or similar.
- Proficient in Microsoft Outlook, Manufacturing software and Project Management
- Strong manufacturing knowledge.
- Effective interpersonal and supervisory skills.
- 3+ years of food, consumer products or other related manufacturing experience.
- 3+ years of managing leaders in a manufacturing environment as an operations Manager or similar role.
- Must be capable of working in a high-speed environment utilizing lean manufacturing and continuous improvement methodologies.

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $80,000.00 - $90,000.00 per year base on education and experience.

Schedule:
- 8 &10 hour shifts
- Monday to Friday
- Weekends as production needs demand
- Manage current 1st & 2nd shifts plus, near future 3rd shift
Experience:
- Management: 5 years (Required)
