Maintenance Technician

The maintenance technician position is responsible for performing highly diversified duties to install, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain production and facility equipment according to safety, preventive, predictive, and productive maintenance systems, and processes to support the achievement of the site’s business goals and objectives. 

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Ensure compliance with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and the proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) at all times.
  • Ensure the effective execution of maintenance activities in all aspects of the facility to assure productivity and wash quality.
  • Perform mechanical skills, including mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic troubleshooting, and repair of production machines.
  • Read and interpret equipment manuals and work orders to perform required maintenance and service.
  • Diagnose problems, replace or repair parts, test, and make necessary adjustments.
  • Perform regular preventive maintenance on machines, equipment, and plant facilities.
  • Use a variety of hand and power tools, electric meters, and material handling equipment in performing duties.
  • Comply with safety regulations and maintain clean and orderly work areas.
  • Develop and implement maintenance processes to maintain proper equipment and machinery functionality, as well as cost efficiency; responsible for spare part control inventory to ensure the equipment maintenance process.
  • Support production needs by collaborating with team members and other departments frequently.
  • Weld, fabricate, and repair various machines.
  • Analyze mechanical parts required for maintenance performance, equipment usage, materials, and personnel.
  • Support all current equipment and new machinery and process introductions.
  • Perform other duties deemed necessary.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma/GED. 

  • Completion of a craft apprenticeship (like Millwright), or an equivalent number of years of education and production maintenance experience. 

  • 4+ years of manufacturing experience; electric, electronic, hydraulic, pneumatic, mechanical, and industrial skills with PLC (Programmable Logic Controller) programming experience.

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and listen. This position is highly active and requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, and climbing all day. The employee must frequently lift and/or move items over 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. 

  • Position type and expected hours of work: This is a full-time position. Hours of work are 5 days during the week / 40 hours per week. A flexible schedule and rotating shifts may be required. Weekend work will be required as job duties demand.
