Maintenance Technician Apprentice - 2nd or 3rd shift

MTNA - ETERNITY SYSTEMS Group is seeking a Maintenance Technician Apprentice to join our team in York, PA, USA.

A Maintenance Technician Apprentice will learn the skills necessary to act as a Maintenance Technician through a combination of formal classroom training and on-the-job training.  Participants will specifically learn how to perform preventative maintenance, rebuild industrial machinery and troubleshooting techniques on all manufacturing equipment.  

This environment may include (conveyor/automation), face-paced, and requires adhere to all GMP, SOP, and PPE. 

As a key member of our maintenance team, you will be responsible to assist the team in ensuring the smooth operation and maintenance of our washing and sanitizing industry equipment and facilities.

This is a full-time 2nd or 3rd shift, regular employment position that consists of hands-on learning experience and a commitment to maintaining high standards of safety and efficiency. Shift Hours 2nd 2:30pm - 11:00pm or 3rd 2:30pm - 6:00am M-F with Saturday as needed.

  • Essential Duties and Responsibilities 

  • Perform scheduled PMs on machinery as needed. 
  • Assist with maintenance projects & machine rebuilds. 
  • Assist with downed equipment repair during the production shift as needed. 
  • Research and documentation using a computer. 
  • Work safely & follow the written procedures to do so. 
  • Follow & respect company rules, staff, and their peers. 
  • Be at work on time based on their assigned schedule. 
  • Perform on-demand maintenance and repair of equipment in the manufacturing facility. 
  • Complete daily responsibilities assigned by the assigned direct supervisor. 
  • Explain and demonstrate accomplishment of the learning objectives for each learning activity in both theory and practice. 
  • Duties, responsibilities, and activities may change at any time with or without prior notice. 
  • Keeps alert for safety issues and escalates immediately. 
  • Effectively prioritizes tasks based on department goals. 
  • Shows respect to others and confronts interpersonal issues directly.

  • Own a variety of power and hand tools to perform job function.

Qualifications

We are looking for a skilled and experienced professional who meets the following criteria:

  • High school diploma or GED. 
  • Must possess a minimum of 1-2 years of experience in a similar field. 
  • Excellent dependability/willingness to work excessive hours/extended periods. 
  • Keen attention to detail. 
  • Able to learn and assist others in an incredibly quick and challenging environment. 
  • Ability to lift and lift loads weighing up to 50 pounds. 
  • No overwhelming fear of heights or confined spaces. 
  • Good communication and teamwork abilities.
  • Familiarity with safety regulations and best practices.
  • Willingness to work full-time on-site in York, PA, USA.

This position is highly active and requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, and climbing all day. The employee must frequently lift and/or move items over 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. 

  • Position type and expected hours of work: This is a full-time position. Hours of work are 5 days during the week / 40 hours per week. A flexible schedule and rotating shifts may be required. Weekend work will be required as job duties demand.
