Maintenance Technician Lead - 2nd shift

MTNA - ETERNITY SYSTEMS Group is seeking an experienced Maintenance Technician Lad to join our team in York, PA, USA.

As a key member of our maintenance team, the maintenance technician lead is responsible to lead a highly diversified crew with the ability to perform highly diversified duties to install, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain production and facility equipment according to safety, preventive, predictive, and productive maintenance systems, and processes to support the achievement of the site’s business goals and objectives. 

You will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation and maintenance of our washing and sanitizing industry equipment, facilities and staffing performance.

This is a full-time 2nd shift, regular employment position that requires hands-on expertise and a commitment to maintaining high standards of safety and efficiency. Shift Hours 2:30pm - 11:00pm M-F with Saturday as needed.

  • Responsible for ensuring all Company safety procedures and safe operating standards are followed by plant personnel, in accordance with OSHA. 
  • Trains Level I and II Maintenance Technicians. 
  • Troubleshoots and repairs process machinery and hydraulic equipment. 
  • Attends regularly scheduled safety meetings and may be asked to serve on the Safety Committee. 
  • Responsible for cleanliness of equipment and regularly scheduled safety inspections. 
  • Manage daily inventory supplies and parts, ensuring replacements are ordered in a timely fashion. 
  • Follows preventative maintenance schedule on all plant equipment. 
  • Provides direction and leadership for the maintenance crew and daily activities and duties. 
  • Perform preventative maintenance on HVAC, manufacturing equipment and the facilities. 
  • Perform calibration on pressure gauges, temperature controls and other equipment. 
  • Ensure safety regulations are met. 
  • Conducts inspections of own and others work in accordance with company requirements.  
  • Change filters and belts. 
  • Fill in for Maintenance Manager when necessary. 
  • Listed as a member of Maintenance & Emergency on-call duty contact.  
  • Oversee contractors when on site. 
  • Monitor and approve payroll schedule/hours including overtime. 
  • Reporting and gathering pre checklists from all maintenance team, upload them to system and report to upper management. Make adjustments as needed to equipment per SOP  
  • The maintenance technician is responsible for performing highly diversified duties to install, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain production and facility equipment according to safety, predictive, and productive maintenance systems to support the achievement of the site’s business goals and objectives. 
  • To ensure the good execution of the maintenance activities in all aspects at the facility to assure productivity of wash quality. 
  • Perform mechanical skills including mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, troubleshooting, and repair of production machines. 
  • Read and interpret equipment manuals and work orders to perform required maintenance and service. 
  • Diagnose problems, replace, or repair parts, test, and make necessary adjustments. 
  • Perform regular preventive maintenance on machines, equipment, and plant facilities. 
  • Use a variety of hand and power tools, electric meters, and material handling equipment in performing duties. 
  • Comply with safety regulations and maintain clean and orderly work areas. 
  • A technician of maintenance is solely responsible for the development and implementation of maintenance processes to maintain proper equipment and machinery functionality as well as cost efficiency; is responsible for the spare part control inventory to ensure the equipment maintenance process. 
  • Analyze mechanical parts required for maintenance performance, use of equipment, material, and personnel. 
  • Support all current equipment and new machinery and process introductions. 
  • Weld, fabricate, and repair various machines.  
  • Support production needs. 
  • Communicate with other departments frequently. 
  • Work closely with maintenance personnel from other MT locations to prevent problems with machinery and equipment. 
  • Determine and eliminate root causes and diminish occurrences in the maintenance process. 
  • Able to assist in reducing costs through Total Preventive Maintenance methodologies. 
  • Responsible for technician training from other facilities to develop skills and knowledge of equipment and machinery repair for efficiency of maintenance. 
  • All other duties deemed necessary. 

Qualifications

We are looking for a skilled and experienced professional who meets the following criteria:

  • Proven experience as a Maintenance Technician in a manufacturing or service industry.
  • Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, pneumatic and hydraulic systems.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and blueprints.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Good communication and teamwork abilities.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks effectively.
  • Familiarity with safety regulations and best practices.
  • Willingness to work full-time on-site in York, PA, USA.

In addition, as the Lead:

  • High school diploma/GED. 

  • Completion of a craft apprenticeship (like Millwright), or an equivalent number of years of education and production maintenance experience. 

  • 4+ years of manufacturing experience; electric, electronic, hydraulic, pneumatic, mechanical, and industrial skills with PLC (Programmable Logic Controller) programming experience. 

  • Collaborates well with others proactively contributes to group objectives.  

  • Able to seek out new methods and willing to incorporate them into existing practices when applicable. 

  • Experience with Microsoft Office and Outlook software preferred. 

  • Preferred education and experience: 

  • Associates’ degree in mechanical, electrical, or industrial maintenance preferred. 

  • Minimum of one (1) year experience as supervisor, assistant manager or manager preferred. 

 Canadian Locations: 

  • Completion of Ministry approved pre-Apprenticeship College course in either Industrial Mechanic (433A) or Industrial Electrician (442A) or in their 2-3 year of the Apprenticeship Program.

Travel: 

Regular travel is expected for this position for training and supporting purposes to other locations.
